The Spanish River Region achieved status in the Bikers Rights Organization and was granted a Charter in 2004 after riding together for a couple of years and meeting regularly as Independents for a period of time.

We now have 30 members and are in the process of making sure that our lobbying efforts for better handicapped parking certificates for motorcyclists gets through all the way to law.

We support various local charities including the Salvation Army in Elliot Lake, the Diabetes Society in Blind River and Christmas Cheer in Sault Ste. Marie.

May 29th                Fallen Riders / Awareness Ride
                                    - Elliot Lake (Timmy's) to Strathclair Field, Sault Ste. Marie on to
                                      Echo Bay, return to Sault Ste. Marie and back to Elliot Lake

July 10th                Show & Shine
                                    - Blind River Community Park


September 11th    Poker Run & B.B.Q.
                                    - Garson, Ontario (Garson Hotel - run route to be decided)

September 25th    Toy Run
                                    - Route to be decided - Toys for Salvation Army, Elliot Lake

What we have done over the last 6 years

1.    Fought for and WON handicapped parking stickers for motorcyclists.
2.    Lobbied for our local MPP's to support or oppose legislation as it affects motorcycling.
3.    Supported protest rallies and rides at Queens Park.
4.    Instrumental in having May declared as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month with local authorities.
5.    Put on safety and awareness displays at local community evens.
6.    Supported the Ride for Sight, Ride for the Cure, Ryan's Run, Women in Crisis, both regionally and
        individually as members.
